SKIN HYDRATION SMOOTHIE, EAT YOUR WATER, PLUMP YOUR SKIN

January 10, 2018

Hey loves are you ready for some skin hydration? We’re still heavy into winter mode and most of us are suffering from parched skin. Skin hydration  is 50% what you put on your skin and 50% how you feed your skin. To simplify hydrating skin food, I’ve developed the ultimate skin hydrating smoothie for you. Eating your water is a concept I learned about from Dr. Andrew Weil and it’s changed the way I think about hydration. Many other well respected physicians agree with this concept and offer stats to prove it, according to the Institute of Medicine, 20% of your water intake comes from food. If you’re missing out on eating hydrating foods your skin is most definitely suffering,
especially in these harsh winter months. I’m removing the guesswork for you by developing an easy smoothie recipe combining super hydrating foods like cucumber to give you youthful plump skin. “Due to their high water content, cucumbers are both hydrating and low in calories – only 13 per cup. Additionally, cucumbers contain vitamin C and caffeic acid, both of which reduce swelling and soothe skin irritations.” – Dr. Weil. I added high quality collagen, healthy vegan fat, and an antioxidant rich superfood, Maqui to this recipe to create the most skin quenching smoothie. Try this smoothie for a week and I promise you your skin will feel like the towel wrapped spa emoji.

I love this idea of eating your water. What a great idea. I can never drink enough water each day. I find it a chore. I’m going to try bringing this smoothie into my morning routine to increase hydration. Great idea, thanks.
