The True Spoon Eats: Ostrich Farm

September 11, 2015

Ostrich Farm bar

The opening of Ostrich Farm, the serene eatery on sunset, is proof that Echo Park is moving up in the culinary ranks. Silverlake has a bevy of restaurants for foodie locals to enjoy, but Echo Park still needed a ‘go-to’ for affordable deliciousness. Ostrich Farm perfectly fills the elevated casual dining void in the neighborhood. Offering crave worthy brunch and dinner menus, the restaurant’s ambiance strikes a perfect balance between cozy and modern. I love the sage leather booths, warm wood accents and large windows providing ample natural light. The menu is filled with perfected farm to table classics, distinctly inspired by local California produce. I’m a seasoned bruncher, so naturally I ordered a cocktail from their inventive list. My tangerine mimosa was as beautiful as it was flavorful and I can’t wait to go back to try the spicy Michelada. With cocktails in hand, my darling friend Gaea and I tackled the menu. We feasted on the lemon ricotta pancakes, a lentil bowl and every tartine on the menu. Ostrich Farm really knows how to do a tartine! The avocado version was a highlight for sure. Stop by Ostrich Farm for the cutest foodie fix in the hood
