My ever expanding city is the ultimate foodie playground, I’m always on the hunt for locales marrying aesthetic and culinary beauty. I recently had the pleasure of checking out Civil Coffee, a beautifully curated cafe in Highland Park. Owner Alex Morales shared Civil Coffee’s inspiring evolution from coffee cart to exquisite brick and morter. This impressively designed space is so alluring, you may find yourself laptop camping far beyond your scheduled block. Civil boasts a rotating espresso menu featuring Portland native roasters, Heart and Coava. In addition to amazing coffee Civil makes a darn good matcha latte, my favorite new way to caffinate. In addition to the scrumptious drinks, Civil’s bites are equally remarkable. My lady loves and I feasted on porchinni avo toast, a muesli bowl, fresh quiche, and the best open face PB & J I’ve ever had. Next time you’re within a five mile radius of Figueroa St. take my advice and check out Civil Coffee
