Have you heard of Botanica? If not read on for all the info on your next must visit gem. What happens when a lifestyle magazine opens an all-day brick and mortar café with a seasonal menu inspired by California cuisine? Pinterest worthy magic happens. This new rustic feminine Silverlake gem is exactly what Silverlake Boulevard desperately needed, a beautiful restaurant with a liquor license! The space is 75% restaurant, 25% coffee bar and Parisine style market offering fresh produce and a few other artisanal items. I found a comfy seat at the long communal table on the sun lit back patio and prepared for the flavor equivalent of the visual euphoria I was experiencing. The primarily plant based, seasonal menu, provided so many healthful on trend options, I was happily overwhelmed. I did however have a very easy time deciding on a homemade cashew date milk latte, it was delicious and not at all overly sweet. My latte came to the table piping hot in a beautiful ceramic mug. I ordered the hot smoked king salmon, the fattoush-y salad, and the shaved roots & fruits salad, all littered with generous portions of fresh greens and torn herbs. I loved the spiced labne (a traditional Eastern Mediterranean strained yogurt) artfully painted across my fattoush-y salad dish. I can’t wait to come back and experience the dinner menu and more importantly the cocktail menu and impressive wine program
Yours truly,
Celeste
