Tis the season for festive cocktails and no other drink rings in classic american nostalgia like a classic lemon drop cocktail. Maybe it’s the martini glass or the frosty sugared rim, whatever it is, I want one. Sadly the standard lemon drop recipe boasts a whopping 25g of sugar, almost the suggested daily allowance by the American Heart Association.
Luckily with one easy swap you can create a flavorful sugar free alternative that could easily trick any lemon drop connoisseur. The not so secret swap is using crystalized monkfruit sweetener instead of sugar! I also love using organic lemons and non GMO vodka for bonus points. This swap makes the cocktail only 1.5g of sugar, all coming from the lemon juice!
Ingredients (makes 1 cocktail, X ingredients by as many cocktails as you want to make)
1 teaspoon monkfruit sweetner
1 shot of vodka
2 shots of lemon sparking water
